The Ministry of Foreign Affairs actively concludes cultural agreements with other countries to promote exchange and cooperation in various fields, including culture, education, and sports. Once a cultural agreement enters into force, the two governments may, under the terms of the agreement or through separate arrangements, establish a Joint Cultural Committee to discuss concrete measures for bilateral cooperation. The Committee may also sign and implement a Cultural Executive Program to put agreed-upon initiatives into practice.
In 2024, the Ministry held a Joint Cultural Committee meeting with Portugal and signed a Cultural Executive Program. The Ministry also concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with Romania covering cooperation in culture, media, youth, and sports, and continued its efforts to strengthen cultural ties with various countries around the world.
